While there were lots of deals on HDTV’s and Blu-ray players, Black Friday was a bust for most toy collectors this year. The shelves were fully stocked at most of the stores I stopped at but, as far as prices go, there wasn’t much to get excited about.
Thankfully, there are a few deals to be had online. One of the best deals I’ve seen is at Amazon.com where select Transformers Animated and Universe toys are 40% off. To top it off, if you order $25 worth of toys, they’re shipped free. Here are some of the toys on sale:
Transformers Animated Supreme – Roll Out Command Optimus Prime - $29.99
Transformers Animated Voyager Megatron Cybertronian – $14.99
Transformers Animated Voyager Starscream – $14.99
Transformers Universe Ultra Onslaught – $14.99 (Yes, only 14.99)
Transformers Universe Ultra Powerglide - $14.99
Transformers Universe Voyager Autobot Blaster – $13.19
Transformers Universe Voyager Autobot Blades – $13.19
Transformers Universe Voyager Decepticon Dropshot – $13.19
Transformers Universe Voyager Decepticon Heavy Load – $13.19
Transformers Optimus Vs. Megatron Universe Battle – $11.99
If you shop at Target as much as I do, you probably noticed that the price of Hasbro action figures has gone up and down a lot over the last few months. Within the last month alone, the price of Transformers Deluxes has changed at least 3 or 4 times.
Apparently, the folks at Target have finally realized that no one was going to pay $10 or $11 for a Deluxe class figure when they could go to Wal-mart and get one for less than $8. The retailer has now lowered the price of its Animated, Movie and Universe deluxes down to $7.79. I’m not sure how long this sale will last, but if I had to guess, it will run through the holiday season.

Target is currently offering a coupon for $10 off a Transformers Animated Leaders figure. The coupon can be printed out and used in stores or online by entering promo code “TGHDYC17.”

While the third wave of Transformers Animated Activators toys have only been out for a couple of weeks, wave 4 has already begun to hit retail. tamo536 of the TFW2005 boards found Grimlock, Bandit Lockdown and Megatron at the Toys R Us store in Newhall, CA.

Knowing Toys R Us, these toys should be showing up across the entire country within the next week or two. The cases with wave 4 also include Thundercracker and Patrol Bumblebee so if you missed them the first time around, you’ll get another chance.
The new Target exclusive Animated deluxes have finally made their way to the U.S. Astroscream of the TFW2005 boards found Rescue Ratchet with Legends Prowl and Starscream at a Target store in Chula Vista, CA. Oddly enough, there was no sign of the other set with Stealth Lockdown and Legends Prime and Bumblebee.

If your local Target hasn’t put these sets out yet, you can try to get them pulled from the back by using the DPCI 087-06-2068.
I usually don’t shop at ALDI, but come the holiday season, they usually have some good deals on toys. This week, ALDI has a number of Transformer toys on sale. According to their online catalog, Transformer Animated deluxes are $7.99 and Star Wars Transformers are a mere $9.99. Transformers Legends figures are also $3.99, which is a good dollar cheaper than anywhere else. Last but not least, they have the Transformers Animated Cyberspeed Bumblebee listed for $16.99.
Target is running a sale on Transformers toys this week. The retailer has marked down its Animated, Universe and Movie deluxes to $8. While not shown in the ad, Transformers Universe Ultras are also on sale for $22.49 and Voyagers for $17.99.
Update: It looks like prices in stores are not the same as they are online. I stopped at my local Target this morning and found that Ultras marked at $24.29 and Voyagers at $19.79.

While Thanksgiving is still more than a month and a half away, stores are beginning to stock up in preparation for “Black Friday.” While out shopping with my family, I came across a bunch of the Transformers Animated: Battle Begins sets with Optimus Prime and Megatron. Along with the six or so on the shelf, there were nearly 30 sets up on the riser.

This is pure speculation at this point, but could this set be a “Black Friday” item? Given, these sets aren’t selling very well, but the last time I saw so many Transformer toys was when they had the Star Wars Millenium Falcon on sale a couple of years ago.
Animated Ultra Magnus has finally hit stores in the U.S. Commtech of the TFW2005 boards, picked up two of them at a Target store in Burbank, CA.

Wal-mart has started to ship the second wave of its exclusive Transformers movie deluxes. Motor Master of the TFW2005 boards found Crankcase, Breakaway and Fracture on a pallet display at his local Wal-mart store. Also, if you missed Big Daddy, Grindor, Jolt or Divebomb the first time around, they are being shipped alongside the new deluxes.

While you’re out hunting for the second wave of movie deluxes, you’ll also want to keep your eyes peeled for Wal-mart’s exclusive “Legacy of Bumblebee” three pack. jimmynguyen41 and Hollywood Host of the TFW2005 boards found the set at Wal-mart stores in Washington state. The pack includes Animated Bumblee, Premium movie Bumbleebee and Classic Bumblebee with a new paintjob and is priced at $28.88.
