The new Star Wars Delta Starfighter has begun to show up at Target stores across the U.S. This new version of Obi-Wan Kenobi’s Jedi Starfighter is based on the one from The Clone Wars. While we have yet to see it do this in the cartoon, the fighter splits into two separate vehicles. This gimmick probaby isn’t for everyone, but the empty droid socket is something that most will appreciate.

Over the weekend, I came across a case of the second wave of Clone Wars packaged Star Wars Transformers at my local Target. The wave includes repaints of Emperor Palpatine/Imperial Shuttle and Imperial Trooper/AT-AT as well as a remold of the Republic Gunship. Along with a new clone pilot head, the gunship’s doors are now fully covered. It also has nose art featuring a Kowakian monkey lizard dropping a bomb.

Target has finally seen the light and has lowered the price of its Clone Wars and Legacy figures to $6.99. At this point, its unknown whether or not this price cut is permanent or temporary.

Sorry G.I. Joe and Indy collectors.. the price of your figures is still $7.99.
On a recent trip with my family, I came across the first wave of Clone Wars packaged Star Wars Transformers toys at the Super Target in Eau Claire, WI. This initial wave seems to be repacks of older toys (Slave I, Republic Gunship, Turbo Tank and EP3 Obi-Wan Starfighter) and does not include any of the new toys, like the TIE Bomber, which are found in later case revisions.

In preparation for “Midnight Madness”, I’ve put together a list of all of the Hasbro Star Wars toys expected to be available on July 26th. This checklist is available online as well as in PDF and Word formats. Download the checklist, print it out and bring it with you on the 26th so you don’t miss out on anything.
Over the last week or two, I’ve come across a number of reports from collectors who found the new new Star Wars Clone Wars and Legacy figures at their local Shopko. On a tip from a local Hot Wheels collector, I hit one of the Shopko stores in my area and found the pegs full of white cards.

I’m not sure if Shopko employees can’t read the boxes or didn’t get the memo from Hasbro, but they seem to be ignoring the street date. Before raiding your local Shopko, take note that the retailer has raised the price of its figures to a whopping $9.99. Ouch…
As promised, Hasbro has posted their Star Wars release guide. The guide includes a schedule listing all of the toys that will be released this fall, including those that will be available on July 26th. Needless to say, you’ll want to print this out and bring it along to “Midnight Madness”.
Hasbro has also posted a Clone Wars handbook which contains character profiles and pictures of many of the new toys. While we’ve seen many of the toys in the book, there are a few new pictures of things like the blue AAT.
While I normally have to beg the people at my local Target to stock the pegs, one ambitious employee took it upon himself to put out their Clone Wars and Legacy Collection figures a little early. A local collector found the employee stocking 6-7 cases worth of figures this afternoon. By the time I got there most of the Clone Wars figures, including all of the ones with the “Day 1″ sticker, were gone. However, there were still plenty of wave 2 Legacy figures, which were, oddly enough, on clearance for a mere $4.64.

Take note of the new shelf tag which clearly indicates the new $7.99 which we reported on last week. At $4.64 though, these figures are one heck of deal.
While Target is looking to squeeze every dollar they can out of collectors, Wal-mart has decided not to raise the price of its Star Wars figures. Thanks to Rebelscum’s “spies” we’ve learned that Wal-mart has left the price of its Clone Wars and Legacy Collection at a more reasonable $6.94.
There will be a pallet train of all new toys, loaded with basic figures from The Clone Wars & The Legacy Collection ($6.94 each), Electronic Blasters & Force Action lightsabers ($19.96), the “Big Millennium Falcon” ($149.96), the AT-TE ($99.96), other Clone Wars vehicles ($19.96), & Clone Trooper Helmet Voice Changers ($29.96)
We have not heard if Toys R Us will be raising their prices. Considering they want $10.99 for their deluxed size Transformers figures, I would not be surprised if they matched Target’s prices.
