With the holidays behind them, Target has raised the price on a number of Transformer toys. While out doing my rounds, I noticed that the price of Animated deluxes and Bumper Battlers had been increased to $10.99. The price of Voyager, Ultra and Leader class toys had also been raised to $21.99, $27.99 and $44.99, respectively. The price of Universe deluxes remain at $7.79, but its probably only a matter of time before they too go up in price.
And then there is Wal-mart… While they typically have the best price on toys, the retailer has decided to stick it to Transformer fans by charging a whopping $12.88 for Animated and Universe deluxes. So much for Walmart being the “low price leader.”
Update: Target has now raised the price of its deluxe class figures to $11.99. While not advertised widely, Universe deluxes are on sale for $7.79 until February 9th.

With stores doing their post-holiday resets, a number of new toys have begun to show up on store shelves. While out hunting for the latest wave of Transformers Animated deluxes, I came across a shelf full of Shadow Blade Megatrons at the Wal-mart in Delafield, WI. There was no sign of Ultra Magnus so its very likely that Hasbro is shipping full cases of Megatron.

The Transformers Animated Jetstorm and Jetfire two pack has finally hit retail in the U.S. roykop of the TFW2005 boards found the set at a Wal-mart store in Mesa, AZ. According to the receipt, the set is priced at $21.96.

Believe it or not, the fifth wave of Transformers Universe deluxes have already hit stores in the U.S. raltherr of the TFW2005 boards picked up Dinobot and Smokescreen at a Wal-mart in Kannapolis, NC.

Wave 6 of the G.I Joe comic two packs have finally shown up at retail. QWE and ladyhump of the Hisstank boards found all three sets at their local Wal-marts.

Wave six of the comic two packs include Snake Eyes/Hard Master, Beachhead/Mainframe and Scrap Iron/ Wild Bill.
Thanks to a fellow collector, I found the Walmart exclusive Star Wars A-Wing Fighter this morning. The store had a good number of them, which is suprising considering it didn’t get the exclusive build a droid sets or comic packs. The A-Wing comes with Arvel Crynyd (Green Leader) and is priced at $29.96. Here are a few pictures.

If you weren’t busy enough looking for Ultra Magnus or the latest waves of Star Wars figures, there are more toys you need to be on the look out for. DisThunder of the TFW2005 boards found the third wave of Transformers Universe deluxes at a Wal-mart in Utah. This wave includes Ironhide, Silverstreak and Sideswipe.

Take note that Ironhide is shortpacked in the first revision of this wave. Needless to say, if you see the toy on the pegs, grab it before the scalpers do.
Wal-mart has started to ship the second wave of its exclusive Transformers movie deluxes. Motor Master of the TFW2005 boards found Crankcase, Breakaway and Fracture on a pallet display at his local Wal-mart store. Also, if you missed Big Daddy, Grindor, Jolt or Divebomb the first time around, they are being shipped alongside the new deluxes.

While you’re out hunting for the second wave of movie deluxes, you’ll also want to keep your eyes peeled for Wal-mart’s exclusive “Legacy of Bumblebee” three pack. jimmynguyen41 and Hollywood Host of the TFW2005 boards found the set at Wal-mart stores in Washington state. The pack includes Animated Bumblee, Premium movie Bumbleebee and Classic Bumblebee with a new paintjob and is priced at $28.88.

Well, that didn’t take long. Target has already raised the price of its Star Wars figures back up to $7.99. To make matters worse, Toys R Us has also decided to raise the price of its Star Wars figures to $7.99. Wal-mart still has theirs at $6.94 but, with everyone else at $7.99 or higher, you have to wonder how long they’ll remain at this price point.
While Target is looking to squeeze every dollar they can out of collectors, Wal-mart has decided not to raise the price of its Star Wars figures. Thanks to Rebelscum’s “spies” we’ve learned that Wal-mart has left the price of its Clone Wars and Legacy Collection at a more reasonable $6.94.
There will be a pallet train of all new toys, loaded with basic figures from The Clone Wars & The Legacy Collection ($6.94 each), Electronic Blasters & Force Action lightsabers ($19.96), the “Big Millennium Falcon” ($149.96), the AT-TE ($99.96), other Clone Wars vehicles ($19.96), & Clone Trooper Helmet Voice Changers ($29.96)
We have not heard if Toys R Us will be raising their prices. Considering they want $10.99 for their deluxed size Transformers figures, I would not be surprised if they matched Target’s prices.
